Projects & Priorities
2013 Priorities
After a great 2012, we're expanding on that success in 2013. The Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition is prioritizing the following efforts to help make Minneapolis more bicycle friendly. Please join us in helping to make these efforts reality as a member, volunteer, or both! Let us know if there's something you'd like to see prioritized in the coming year.
- Open streets. We are hosting four open streets in 2013
- Bikeways for Everyone. The Bikeways for Everyone campaign has two immediate priorities: ensuring the safety of bicyclists in the redesigns of Washington Avenue and Minnehaha Avenue. This is the first step in a campaign comprised of multiple partner organizations to advocate for the implementation of a 30-mile network of cycletrack infrastructure (protected bike lanes).
- Bike-friendly policy. We're working with partner organizations, elected officials and city agencies to change, or implement, city policies to make bicycling easier, more enjoyable, and accessible for everyone in Minneapolis.
